AUSTIN STRAUB

is an Emmy®-winning cinematographer based in Los Angeles. His work spans the gamut of the industry – from an upcoming theatrical feature film, to television documentary series on Apple TV+, Disney+ and PBS, to commercial productions for brands like Target, Sony Playstation, Four Seasons Hotels, and La Marzocco, as well as handheld operating on multicam concert films for HBO, Amazon, and Apple.

He thrives in intimate, human stories bathed in naturalistic light, where the camera is just as much a part of the scene as the characters.

Austin is passionate about demystifying the “intangibles” of image aesthetic and believes that the latest generation of digital capture devices opens up a new playground to become look authors rather than look shoppers.

Recently, he was invited by the Television Academy to train on the latest in virtual production technology, and is excited to continue finding new expressions of imagery across both live action and computer generated worlds.

When he’s not behind a camera you can find him sequestering his carbon emissions in his vegetable garden.
